- Natural Hygiene is about teaching and guiding, showing how the body heals itself, if all obstacles to healing are removed. The method is about change of life-style, with no hocus-pocus or exaggerated super-healing claims. It is also critical to the idea of promoting drugs, which often are useless, dangerous and costly - often delaying or stopping the recovery process, and causing passivity and doctor-dependance. For the same reason NH does not approve of colon cleansing, herbs, acupuncture and other symptomatic treatments - while acknowledging the relief these can give, on the other hand the long-term effect is more damage to the body, together with even worse symptoms (since the cause of disease has not been removed).
